This product lives up to it's description. It's sturdy enough to take any sort of beating. I bought this for my residence, and no longer have to look at a porch-side full of old butts, left by a lazy smoking partner.

Since the reviews I read mentioned the unit being light weight and will tilt over; do you recommend putting sand in the bottom for weight to keep from tilting over or do you recommend putting a brick or weight in the bottom? If sand is considered to be used (how much is needed)? I read one of the reviews where one customer added a weight then put a galvinized bucket in the container. Also how much is shipping/handling? If I order and am satisfied with the quality, I probably will order more.

Sand is recommended to weigh the unit down. Just put enough to weigh the unit down. If you use too much, then less cigarettes can be placed in the unit and it will have to be emptied more.
