MAPLE BENCH TOP
Maple butcher-block bench top is kiln dried, electronically glued, then cured and sanded smooth. Finished with a penetrating mineral oil protectant. You can't buy a better all-purpose bench top. Tops must be oiled on all surfaces every 1-2 weeks depending on use or conditions for up keep.
Your review: We love our new butcher block counter and used it on our kitchen island. Our kitchen isn't finished yet but we can't wait to use it. For the thickness this is a great deal and looks great in our kitchen.

Is the mineral oil sealant that is used on this workbench top food safe?
I recently purchased this product and did notice the fact that it has a mineral oil finish and has to be oiled on both sides at least every month. My question is can I apply several coats of a sealer to completely seal the wood so I wont have to do the oiling. Since this is a workbench top, oil would really mess up any wood project that you might be working on.

I was about ready to install this top on a assembly table I made and noticed that the top is warped. The long length is convex slightly. How would you recommend I try to correct this since I can't use it as an assembly top unless it is dead flat. I thought of trying to sand it and even gluing a sandwich of MDF or plywood on the top and bottom. It would ruin the beautiful look of the top but I need something that is flat. Any suggestions?
