Meet Our Driver and Crew Chief

Austin Hill

Driver

Austin Hill started his racing career at the age of six in Quarter Midgets, eventually winning the 2002 Quarter Midgets championship. After competing full-time in the 2018 NASCAR Truck Series, the Winston, Georgia native had a breakout season in 2019 – winning four races, including his first-career victory at Daytona International Speedway. In 2020, Hill captured the Truck Series regular season championship title. After spending four seasons competing full-time in the Truck Series, Hill climbed the ranks to the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2022. Driving the No. 21 Chevrolet Camaro SS for Richard Childress Racing, Hill claimed two wins in his rookie season – at the prestigious Daytona International Speedway and his home state track, Atlanta Motor Speedway. Starting his Xfinity Series sophomore campaign in 2023, Hill went back-to-back at the World Center of Racing, earning the victory in the season-opening event at Daytona for the second consecutive year.

Andy Street is the crew chief of the No. 21 Chevrolet team in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, working alongside Austin Hill for a second season. Starting his career at Richard Childress Racing as a team engineer, Street scored 10 wins with drivers Kevin Harvick and Clint Bowyer. The 2023 season marks Street’s fourth season as a Xfinity Series crew chief for the storied organization. The veteran racer has won a total of four races throughout the last three seasons – three of which have come with Hill in the driver’s seat of the No. 21 Camaro SS.

Kyle Busch

Driver

Kyle Busch drives the No. 8 Global Industrial Chevrolet for Richard Childress Racing in the NASCAR Cup Series. Since making his NASCAR debut 20 years ago, Busch has grown into a successful driver, team owner and businessman, easily becoming one of the most accomplished drivers in NASCAR’s modern history. He owns 63 wins in the elite NASCAR Cup Series and is one of only two active multi-time champions. Busch holds an all-time NASCAR record with 19 consecutive seasons with a victory. This year, Busch and his crew chief, Randall Burnett, hope to build off of a successful 2023 season in which the duo earned three races wins, 10 top-five finishes, 17 top-10 finishes and a berth in the NASCAR Playoffs for the 16th time in Busch’s career.

Randall Burnett

Crew Chief

Randall Burnett is the crew chief of the No. 8 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Richard Childress Racing with driver Kyle Busch. 2024 marks the pair’s second year working together, and Burnett’s eighth year at RCR. Burnett notably guided Busch to three races wins, 10 top-five finishes, 17 top-10 finishes and a berth in the NASCAR Playoffs in 2023. During his tenure at RCR, Burnett has found success in both the NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series, notably earning the NASCAR Xfinity Series Championship with Tyler Reddick in 2021.

Welcome to Welcome, North Carolina, where you’ll discover an auto body shop much like any other. Cabinets. Shelving. Push brooms, dustpans, and a dust collector in the corner. At first glance the facility in Welcome, North Carolina, doesn’t look much different than any other body shop.

Rare to get a look under the hood of a NASCAR vehicle. Rarer still to hear how it all comes together from the crew chief himself. We made him take a pit stop and talk to us about how he got here.
