I'm an industrial steamfitter and fabshop foreman. The company I work for has 5 of these, from old to new, and even the oldest is still in service. From shop to field these machines are tough as nails. Parts are typically available. There is an occasional fix needed. Usually with the oiler. Will thread anything from stainless and carbon to aluminum, 3/8" to 2" and even rod. Well worth the money. -

Got our new threading machine set up and ready to use. Can not use because of a defectively machined part in the chuck. The part to be threaded does not turn concentrically and spins out of round so it will not start into the threading process. The defect shows up in the photo, the one jaw is set back compared to the other two. Set a request into Ridgid to address the problem with no answer yet. All I got was this review so maybe this will help resolve problem. -

We do outdoor electrical construction and thread a lot of rigid metal conduit. The machine that we use on my crew, the company had purchased when I was apprentice way back in 1991....talk about a long lasting workhorse!!
