Butcher block counter top

Your review: Nice quality, thick butcher block. Needs a little finish sanding for use as a counter top. Far and away better quality than one purchased from Lumber liquidators, which was not a lot cheaper either. I would not hesitate to buy this again.**Assigned to CS**

good quality, hard to "finish"

Your review: The size is perfect for our ikea cabinet that we turned into an island. it was quite hard to find a reasonably priced countertop, so this fits the bill perfectly. The wood is absolutely beautiful.

Answer This Question

I recently purchased this product and did notice the fact that it has a mineral oil finish and has to be oiled on both sides at least every month. My question is can I apply several coats of a sealer to completely seal the wood so I wont have to do the oiling. Since this is a workbench top, oil would really mess up any wood project that you might be working on.

Are your maple work bench tops made in USA or imported?

I was about ready to install this top on a assembly table I made and noticed that the top is warped. The long length is convex slightly. How would you recommend I try to correct this since I can't use it as an assembly top unless it is dead flat. I thought of trying to sand it and even gluing a sandwich of MDF or plywood on the top and bottom. It would ruin the beautiful look of the top but I need something that is flat. Any suggestions?
