better than tankless

This tank replaced a 75 gal HWH in a 4500 SF house with 3 cloths washers where running out of hot water was a daily occurrence. Since this HWH was installed we have never run out. I have a tank-less in a summer house...what a pain. The newer tank-less have serious quality issues and customer satisfaction. This AO Smith does NOT have the "hot water sandwich" and you don't have to worry about enough flow to turn it on.

Good Water Heater - Poor Shipping

This water heater replaced two electric models and is doing an excellent job. Three teenagers in house and we don't run out of hot water. Installation instructions were very clear.

Great water heater

Your review: The water heater arrived on time in excelent coindition. With that addition of condencate lines and drains, installation was a little more difficult than a convential water heater. The first firing and heat up was quick. The fan is a little noisy but the efficency more than makes up for that.

Replacement of electric heaters

Your review: I purchased the GPHE-50 to replace two 40 gallon electric heaters. While they worked fine, they were very expensive to operate. I had to run a gas line to the new location but was well worth it. I like the new gas heater and it provides plenty of hot water for baths and showers. Only con was the condensing tubes used to collect condensation. The one located on the fan would not stay on so I was forced to buy one that was tighter. There is no good way to mount the tubes and they either seemed too short or too long. Overall I'm pleased and in the end will save a ton of money.
